Just strolled by the new One Globe Court on one of Red Bank's more historic streets.
Once again concerned about the safety of this largely wooden building and also when apartments are going to be on sale. Given the glut of "luxury apartments" in the town I suppose a delay is inevitable.
But my main concern today is the encroachment beyond the property line and immediately up to the sidewalk which is also compromised by an overhang and the massive utility poles set in the sidewalk which must surely reduce its specification below Complete Streets and ADA requirements.

Most days I monitor fatalities on NJ roads, compiled from the NJ State Police website. I report via @njcrash.bsky.social on Bluesky
Basic trend for this year means that more than 10people/week die on NJ streets, every single victim killed either in or being hit by a car, bus or truck. Worse, pedestrian and cyclist deaths are up on this time last year.

The town has several awards for road safety. You might wonder how?
Meanwhile in Red Bank NJ, "accidents" will happen... The only way most of us know is if they're posted on Fb Getting data on these cases is impossible, even in incidents involving KSIs Walking or biking in the town is at least 5x more lethal than similar trips in Europe... #bikeped #zerovision

Say what you like about bicycle and pedestrian safety; safe crosswalks, bike lanes, helmets, high viz, walkability, Complete Streets, etc., these are merely sinecures imposed on us by murderous drivers.
It does not change the fact that greatest perpetrator of deaths and serious injuries on the roads are the drivers of motor vehicles; cars, trucks, buses, etc.
The recent hysteria over bike and ebike regulation is infuriating, dumb, and counter-productive.
